Jazz Canarias festival returns to Lanzarote
This July the Jazz Canarias festival returns to Lanzarote to liven up the lovely island. The annual festival, apparently the only concert scheduled for this year, will take place on Saturday July 9th. The event will feature the Miguel Zenon Quartet – Zenon is a Puerto Rican saxophone player who gained international recognition at the San Francisco Jazz Collective in 2004. Zenon’s unique modern sophistication in the art has brought two prestigious awards – the MacArthur and the Guggenheim. Sharrie Williams, one of the soloists of the Greater Williams Temple Inspirational Voices, will take the stage after Miguel Zenon to enliven the rest of the evening with a combination of blues, soul and jazz. So make sure you experience this rare performance, and guess what, entrance is free, at this exotic Spanish destination – a destination which offers you much more than just white sandy beaches and perfect sunny weather all year round. For those of you who are interested in holidaying in Lanzarote, this summer, or even this winter, the island offers a wide range of accommodation, mainly hotels, villas and apartments, in its three main tourist areas, Costa Teguise, Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen. Hotels in Lanzarote extend hospitality to the rural country side as well. For the best deals in accommodation try some of the online accommodation guides.
